REFOLDING
Optimise, quickly and efficiently, refolding procedures either de novo or from an existing protocol which needs improvement.
Also, NVoy technology uses no common additives due to its proprietary polymers which offers the ability to develop patent busting procedures for the production of proteins when the refolding procedure has been patented.

ANALYTICALS
Often it is impossible to obtain the analytical data you require for your protein when certain molecules (e.g. detergents, arginine, NDSB’s) are used, but without these molecules present your protein cannot be kept soluble at the right concentration for your research.
NV polymers solve this problem as they can replace additives and detergents used to keep proteins happy in solution and yet they do not interfere with common analytical and structural assays, for example:

PURIFICATION
We can save you time, money and trouble by developing a new or optimising and improving an established purification strategy. We’ll simplify the procedure and eliminate unnecessary protein losses before passing your protein back in a suitable form at the concentration you require together with a detailed protocol for you to use in-house.
STABILISATION
The inherent characteristics of NV polymers allows us to stabilise your proteins and deliver them back to you at your specified concentration – you may also opt to keep the protein at 4ºC instead of freeze/thawing or lyophilising (though our technology will not effect your protein through these techniques either).
You may then opt to have further work done using Expedeon, bring the process in-house or we’ll work with a CMO of your choice to ensure seamless transfer of the technique.
Our NV polymers are inert, uncharged molecules so as well as protecting your protein it is extremely easy to purify the protein in their presence – greater than 99% can be washed away after binding the protein to a simple ion exchange column.
Their association to the protein surface also minimises losses due to non-specific binding, especially when working with dilute or small quantities of protein. Sequential protein losses have a large cumulative effect and are worse the smaller your scale becomes.
Common needs for stabilisation results when:
- Soluble proteins aggregate on prolonged storage
- Fusion proteins drop out of solution after the fusion tag is cleaved off
- Proteins lose activity after acidification or activation
- Proteins drop out of solution when their concentrations are increased (e.g. concentrations may need to be increased so that the protein can be crystallised)
SCALE-UP
NV technology gives the same results whether you’re producing 1mg or 1kg of protein. Transfer of protocols is seamless from bench to production scale and we will work on your project with you to produce proteins for pre-clinical trials, diagnostics, HTS, further characterisation or production.
The up-scaled protein production can be completed by Expedeon or we can transfer the fully optimised protocol back to your own lab or the CMO of your choice.
