Expedeon’s Streptavidin-HRP conjugates have been developed for the detection of biotinylated nucleic acids, antibodies, or other biotinylated ligands and targets. Manufactured using our Lightning-Link® antibody labeling technology, these secondary reagents provide extremely high quality, stable conjugates.

For added flexibility we provide the conjugates in two different pack sizes of 100ug and 1mg. Furthermore, the conjugates are freeze-dried so shipping at ambient temperature is not a problem.

Additional information

Streptavidin is purified from the bacterium Streptomyces avidinii. It is a tetrameric protein that is composed of identical subunits, with the tetramer having a molecular weight of approximately 53kDa. Each subunit binds one biotin molecule with a very high degree of specificity and affinity. The Kd for this interaction is in the region of 10-15M.

Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is a metalloenzyme which has many different isoforms. It utilises hydrogen peroxide to oxidize both organic and inorganic compounds, and in the presence of the appropriate substrate (e.g. TMB, DAB, ABTS) causes a color change that can be measured spectrophotometrically.
