How to Use TrueSplit for Windows:

1. Please download both files from TrueSplit (TrueSplit.ps1 and TrueSplit.bat), place them in the same directory as your fastq files (please do not use a zipped version) and double click it

2. You then need to enter the complete name of your forward read fastq file – for example “my_sequences_forward.fastq” (but without the quotation marks)

3. TrueSplit will automatically split your file into chunks with a size of 1,000MB and save them as new files

4. You will have to repeat this process with the reverse sequence file

5. You can than upload these new files into TruePlane

How Use TrueSplit for Linux:

1. Please download TrueSplit for Linux and put it in the same directory as your fastq files (please do not use a zipped version) and execute it

2. It may be the case, that the file will not execute directly. Then you will need to open the console in the same directory as the fastq file and this helper and enter:

./TrueSplit.sh

3. Then you have to enter the complete name of your forward read fastq file for example “my_sequences_forward.fastq” (without the quotes)

4. TrueSplit will automatically split your file into chunks with a size of 1000MB and save them as new files

5. You will have to repeat this with the reverse sequence file

6. You can than upload this new file into TruePlane
